The Tale from Chicken Shit

Many years ago, perhaps before high school, I found this book in a cousin's room entitled Chicken Shit for the Soul. Curiously, I scanned its table of contents, picked an interesting story title and read the story. It haunts me to this very day...


There was once an orphanage run by nuns. One day while the little orphans were playing happily in their room, one of the nuns came in, her hands behind her back. She called to the children and asked them sweetly, "Who wants to go to heaven?"

Every little hand shot up in the air. The nun smiled.

Then in an instant, she drew from behind her a machine gun and fired at the orphans til they all dropped dead.
